So did you try what the message above suggest?
Also create and log in as new user and run compiz-manager --replace in that session, open a bug report with full output if it does not work even with that user.
Cheers

J, Partially solved, emerald still broken. I wiped compiz completely off. Again with only X11/:Compiz repo enabled, I installed compiz, then re-enable X11:/XGL and installed fusion-icon (That really needs to be in X11/:Compiz as well). I created a new user, logged in and started compiz with compiz-manager --replace. Compiz started. I went to enable emerald themes from the icon compiz-manager put in the system tray, and chose a theme. I then used the icon in the system tray to "Select Windows Decorator" and chose emerald themes, then all window decorations disappeared. What? I then tried a command line emerald --replace &, but the decor stayed gone? What gives. To fix my login, I then copied .config/compiz to my directory, logged out and logged into my account. Starting compiz worked, but emerald is borked! Window decor disappears when emerald themes are selected. I haven't had problems with emerald since the 0.6.x days. What can I try? Thanks. -- David C.
