When i try to install lightscribeApplications-1.10.19.1-linux-2.6-intel.rpm from the command line, i get dependency error: error: Failed dependencies: libpng.so.3 is needed by lightscribeApplications-1.10.19.1-0.i386
I then try to run rpm --whatprovide libpng.so.3 and promptly get the rpm usage output. That is the correct syntax for whatprovides, right?
You need "Query-mode" and an 's': rpm -q --whatprovides libpng.so.3 ^ But that only searches what *installed* package provides something. You can find what (not installed) package contains something via pin, zypper, yast or the online search. Anyway, you need the package 'libpng', but I don't think that you don't have that installed already, as libpng is needed for many basic packages, and libpng.so.3 is provided at least since SuSE 8.2 up to openSUSE 10.2 (inclusive). -dnh -- Some people have no repect of age unless it is bottled. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
