Hi all,
We have multiple directories with sub directories containing hundreds of PDF files. We need to search inside all the PDF files for any word (with boolean AND / OR) words, where the results list the files and allow direct opening on the position where the word is in the pdf-file. Which Linux open source application can be recommended for that. Is there also an open source application that perhaps runs on both Linux and a Windoze box as well?
TIA

Hi Dunno about doze, but I think Beagle is designed to do such work. I do not use "the dreaded dog" myself however so I cannot be sure. On Suse 11 beagle seems to work better than it ever did. I am far from sure, but the indexing service in dozeXP might help you there. I have no knowledge of any tools that do this AND are cross-platform. I am the only one accessing and saving my files, so on neither of the OS-ses I have needed a content accessing search tool. Neil -- There are two kinds of people: 1.
