I can also use konqueror to connect remote shares using smb://username@ip.address/share
konqueror and nautilus use libsmbclient
Now, I want to print to the various network printers we have. I've looked and cannot seem to get a straight answer. How do I setup either KPrinter or CUPS to print to a remote printer on an active directory network?
I never used Kprinter to get this working. While using a local CUPS to spool the print job smbspool is used to pass the job to the destination. But the plain smbspool isn't allowed to use the TGT of the printing user. Please intall the samba-krb-printing package. The package %post script changes the sym link /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb to /usr/bin/get_printing_ticket a set uid root binary.
