Guys,
I am trying to write a script and I am lost with cdrecord. What I am trying to do is grad the dir I need to backup incase my box crashes, then burn that to DVD so I can take it off site. My problem is that I don't know how to translate my recorder /dev/hda to something cdrecord will understand.
Hmm... I assume grad == grab ... Which scripting language? SuSE has used wodim rather than cdrecord for some time. (cdrecord is usually a link to wodim). However to burn to iso you need to create an iso image with mkisofs then burn for CD or use growisofs... Relevant man pages are... man wodim man mkisofs man growisofs I have perl module in pre-alpha that interacts with various DVD/CD tools to copy files to dvd or cd which may give you a few ideas in Perl. But if you dont know Perl this will not help a lot. - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
