Uninstall the 32 bit plugin you installed, then install via the instructions at http://en.opensuse.org/How_To_use_Java_with_Firefox_on_64-bit_openSuSE_10.3#...
Hi Joe, Thanks for that. I would do as you say if I only knew where the *@!# Sun installer had put things. If I just go around deleting things I could make things a lot worse than they are. The alternative is to delete all Java related packages from my system and then delete whatever's left (since obviously whatever's left is whatever's not controlled by YAST): but that would mean getting rid of so many applications (e.g. OOo, Eclipse etc etc) that it's nearly as bad a complete reinstall. My mistake was thoughtlessly going ahead and installing the Sun JRE. I guess I just have to live with the consequences of that now. Thanks for your input (and I really wish I could follow what you say, since it looks fairly painless) Cheers Peter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
