When I click on an external link in a kmail or knews message, the link gets copied to a temporary file in /var/temp/something-or-other, which is then opened in the browser. This happens with both Konqueror and Firefox as default browser. What I would like (and expect) is for the browser to go directly to the external link.
I'm using squid as a local proxy. Could it be something to do with squid, or is it a KDE setting?
As an example, I clicked on the following link in opensuse-announce:
http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/8
and Firefox went here:
file:///var/tmp/kdecache-bob/krun/7650.0.8

simple answer it seems is squid , I can say for certain because it is one of the programs that i never install for the simple reason of it's butt assed way of doing things ,
Thanks. I'll take a closer look at the squid config.
Why do you need a Proxy in the first place ?.
Because I want to. -- Bob Registered Linux User #463880 openSUSE 10.3, Kernel 2.6.22.13-0.3-default, KDE 3.5.8 Intel Celeron 2.53GB, 2GB DDR RAM, nVidia GeForce 7600GS -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
