Speaking from experience as a field tech i'd sat anything more a 2 disk system requires above 400W. Especially if you have a powerful graphics card. Also, i have found (maybe not so scientifically) that AMD tends to be more "hungry"... The new Core2 Duo is actually lower in consumption than its predecessor Dual Core. As previously stated, try a bigger PSU. Id go for 500 or 650 W
All my systems have a 500W power supply and, despite virtually all of them having 2 drives, a single DVD ROM and AMD processors, there's more than enough headroom[0]. Even my most loaded system, containing 4 hard drives, a CD writer, DVD writer, dual AMD 1800+MP processors, 3x 8cm and 1x 12cm cooling fans, and it still has room with a 500W PSU. [0] If they all consumed their full load, I'd be using over 3.5KW/h just keeping them running. Since I'm actually using about 1.8KW/h, most of them must be using far less.
