Works perfectly here (but I cannot get my Lexmark Laser 4039 to print :-( ).
Do you have the USB cable plugged into the right hole? It's easy enough to plug it into the network port.
If it is plugged in correctly then I suggest you REMOVE it in Yast's Control Centre/Hardware, unplug the power supply of the printer, plug the power back in again and let 10.3 come up with the message Found New Hardware -- or use Control Centre's Options Restart Detection of printers; the printer should be detected as an HP 8400 series printer. My other alternative is to re-install Kubuntu, but the problem with that is no Realplayer and no Flashplayer. My preference is to continue with openSuse 10.3. because I have grown used to it and I lke it (when it works properly :-) ) I need someone to say "yes I had that problem and I solved it by .............
