Listmates,
Where do you configure the setting for mail to send mail as user@domain.com instead of sending as user@host.domain.com? I've looked at .mailrc options, no help, I've read man mailx no help. Where is this little setting stored?
The mail is submitted to Postfix, and Postfix by default adds the hostname to qualify the sender address:
postconf -d myorigin myorigin = $myhostname
You probably want $myorigin = $mydomain
Thanks Sandy, I hadn't thought about postfix running on my laptop. Sheesh, that was a slap in the face :o And, last night, fiddling with this, I thought, "Gee, if this was going through postfix, it would be easy to fix!" I need more rest... -- David C.
