I am using the aetheros chipsset, i.e., using the madwifi. Under the latest update, the new kernel, 2.26.18 removes the madwifi rpm from the system. Does anyone know if they are going to update the madwifi repository or will I have to compile the source?
I don't speak for SGI in this forum.
Did you see David Rankin's post "Re: [opensuse] BUG: kernel 2.6.22.16-0.1-default Breaks Atheros Wireless [work around]"
At any rate, When the option to install the software was given, in my case, it mentioned that it was going to uninstall madwifi so I decided to wait. If you can't wait, it sounds like David's method should work.

Yeah this happened to me as well.... reinstalling madwifi threatens to delete the kernel and stuff like that... so I think I won't do that ;-) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
