Is anyone else having problems? I have tried the version from OpenSuse () and the one from Packman () and they both fail to work, although in different ways.
1.2.4b-55 will not play back; it stutters and stalls
1.3.4-2 gives lots of tracing, including failures in pa_linux_alsa.c line 1066 and then fails to play, more error messages and the "Error while opening sound device"
Yes, on a new install today 1.3.4-2 gave these messages - perhaps something to do with portaudio? As Carl said, this version was working earlier, so something must have changed.
1.2.4, however, works OK for me.
OK everyone :-) . As someone very recently stated, if you want help then please specify your OS.
I am running v10.2, 32-bit, and I have Audacity 1.3.4-Beta installed (in the normal process of being upgraded by smart).
What I have is working without a hassle.
So, where does 1.3.4-2, mentioned above, come from? Is it a 64-bit version? And if it is a 32-bit version, why don't I have it! :-) .
Ciao.
