If you installed Microsoft true type font by YAST sofware/ update manager they might have not been installed. I also tried to install them by yast software updater selecting msttfonts.sh patch/script but it did not work from YAST. Furthermore there was no any error message saying that the installation was unsucsessfull.

Download the script and run it in a console window as root yourself. That made the trick for me.
