Hi, I'm running openSUSE 10.3, Gnome. Recently, the SLAB menu stopped running - meaning that I don't see it on the menu panel at the bottom. I've tried adding it using 'Add to Panel', but it still doesn't appear. This happened after I tried to open a directory on my local file system. I have no idea why Nautilus hung on me while I'm opening a folder. This happened to ONE particular nested folder. Nautilus had no problems with all other folders on my system.
From gnome-terminal, I'm able to open the directory. The problem happens only when I open it with Nautilus. So everytime it hung, I force-quit it since it turned 'dark' (Compiz way of saying 'it hung'). After doing this a couple of times, now SLAB does not appear at all.
I've since removed the problematic directory but it does not solve the problem. In addition, every time after boot up, the first time I log into the desktop, the menu panel at the bottom is blank. I have to do a CTL-ALT-Backspace to restart the X-server once to revive the menu panel. On a related note, every time I add Deskbar to the panel, a crash window appears. This symptom has always been there since the first time I installed openSUSE 10.3. Could these two problems be related? Appreciate any advise.
