OK, i have been trying to get libgnomecanvas onto my sled sp1 install, so i can install the latest gtkpod, for almost 2 months. Has anyone out there that uses sled sp1 been able to upgrade from libgnomecanvas 2.12 to libgnomecanvas 2.14 (using the opensuse/gnome:/stable repo) successfully? The last attempts have left me unable to login (gdm just flashes and never lets me login). If anyone has been successfully, that uses sled sp1, please let me know what you had to install (just libgnomecanvas or other packages) to get libgnomecanvas 2.14 working. I sure do want to be able to use my ipod (without using banshee) on my sled box again :)
Amarok? The best media player ever I don't think you can easily upgrade just libgnomecanvas. Gnome packages have a tendency of bunching together, so you will likely need to upgrade many packages of gnome at the same time On the other hand, I'm not sure you have to, just to build gtkpod. As far as I can see, libgnomecanvas is API stable (or at least gnome.org claims it is) so I think the configure file is wrong. You could try simply editing the configure file to change the requirement to 2.12.
