Does it matter if I have Xgl and Compiz installed and configured to run under
X?

Hi,
I have a Samsung LE32R 32" LCD-TV and the X server doen't seem to automatically recognize as a proper display. So I've searched the net for some answers but can't seem to get it work. So far I've tried different configurations for the xorg.conf file and none proved to be any good. The
TV
is connected to the PC through a normal VGA cable (VGA both ends) and here is one of the configurations I've tried:
Section "Monitor" Identifier "Monitor[0]" VendorName "Monitor Vendor" ModelName "SAMSUNG" DisplaySize 890 500 HorizSync 30-61 VertRefresh 60-75 ModeLine "1360x768" 85.5 1360 1416 1528 1792 768 771 777 795 +hsync +vsync Option "dpms" EndSection
Other configurations included changes in the "Screen" subsections, with the ModeLine commented (this one I read about on Ubuntu forums). I run OpenSuSe 10.2 64bit with a Pentium4 3.0Ghz HT, 1Gb RAM, Geforce 6200 PCIe TC256.
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me and sorry if this stuff was posted again but I'm kinda locked up here. And if I change my cable to a DVI or DVI-HD cable, is there a change that occurs in the configuration? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
