With the today update it is proposed to remove MPlayer, kmplayer, mplayerplug-in, mythvideo and vlc. I had the idea that I regularly use MPlayer, perhaps kmplayer, no use at the moment for mythvideo and no idea what vlc is. In the list of updates I do not see anything which could replace MPlayer functions. Why should I get rid of MPlayer and where could I read more about the background of such propositions? For the moment I have stopped the "update" until I see clearer. --
I have the same problem. It looks like Smart is trying to upgrade libraries, and then suggests to remove application depended on the previous version of the libraries. I accidentally removed K3B, by not looking at the suggestions before continuing. I have now disabled channels causing problems, but I have no idea how to resolve the issue.
For the moment I have just locked Mplayer which automaticaly leaves the other packages intact. The K3B was indeed one of the other propositions some time ago which I did not take.
