Hi,
I have an Acer Centrino laptop running SuSE 9.1 Pro.
Being as I'm a newbie, I'd suggest that's your problem right there. WiFi support was abysimmal under 9.1, got better under 9.2, and finally achieved some level of maturity under 9.3. Seeing as how you can get the full version for free under 10.1, and that security patches for 9.1 are discontinued, I'd highly recommend an upgrade. WiFi support under 10.1 still isn't up to the level of XP or MacOSX, but it works much better than under 9.1.
It includes an Intel 2200B/G wireless card, which is in fact not recognized (eth1 device: Intel Corp.: Unknown device 4220 (rev 05)), but works flaw- lessly with the ipw2200 driver/firmware.
Yeah, the 2200B/G - which I have on both my laptops - is easily regonzied by 9.3 and later. There should be no problem configuring it. -- Kai Ponte www.perfectreign.com
