/dev/modem doesn't exist on my system so create it by linking /dev/ttyS0. However, each time I reboot, it is deleted. Can someone tell me what I should do in order to keep it? I have a program that is dependent on it.
Place your link command in the file called /etc/profile.local
Why not /etc/init.d/boot.local? That's only called once. /etc/profile.local is called on every shell invocation.
