But one thing is very annoying. I can't play .vmw files.
Well I can play them but the videi is all black and I only hear the sound. This is true both with xine and mplayer. I have the extra codecs installed.
Can somebody help with this problem?
Install MPlayer and MPlayer-plugin as 32bit, meaning select i586 in yast,(get the one from Packman), and then you are set.

Thanks for the advice. I allready had it installed but reinstalled it anyway. Still the same problem, just sound and a black screen. But I noticed that some .vmw files worked. Are there different .vmw codecs?

Hi Olle, It means the audio codec is OK, but not the video one. You can try to know the codec used for your .vmw files even in Windows, using the Properties, then clicking on the "Summary" (Advanced if needed) tab. The same approach could be done in Linux. Have you tried to install from Packman all codecs (you say "extra", but which ones?), in particular xvid (as you might have divx already) and w32-codecs? Do a search for "codecs" in the Packman's link: http://packman.links2linux.org/ Hope this helps. Please tell if it's resolved. Cheers, PatrickM
