I've had a ton of issues with Firefox in the past few months. I can't be specific other than to say several sites (imdb.com, yahoo.com, edmunds.com...) will simply "freeze" firefox and I'll have to close the session. I can have anywhere from one to five tabs up. My mom never has the issue on her 9.2 system and I've not noticed it on my 9.3 system. (I'm using 10.0 primarily.) In the past few weeks, I've kind of given up and switched to Opera for many things.
Have you tried disabling/removing/updating any Flash plugins? I had the same lockups in Firefox occurring on some sites as well (under 9.3), starting a few months ago. Other browsers did not seem to be affected. Disabling the Flash plugin avoided these lockups.
