I just started up the Gimp and was searching for some files. Now, someone has decided that it would be nice to 'shade' every other line in a list of files. Great idea... (I suppose) except that on my screen EVERY OTHER LINE IS TOTAL BLACK! In a list of files, you either have to know what you are looking for, and do an alphabetical lookup to guess at it, or you have to click on each black line which will turn it to a blue color and you can read the filename.
Totally Assinine!!
Yeah, I just noticed that. They've taken the horrendous GIMP file dialog box and made it worse. I don't get black lines, but the blue lines are annoying. In addition, you're saddled with the home/desktop/file system selections. The Wintendo version of GIMP has the same annoying dialog box (Haven't the GIMP devs ever used a normal dialog box?) but without the blue lines and with the Home/Desktop/Drives/Shares listed in order. I think that at least makes it marginally better. In any case, I've been kind of giving up on GIMP. Krita works pretty well, as does ShowFoto (part of digikam) and Picassa is awesome. -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com || www.livebeans.com linux - genuine windows replacement part -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
