A very useful case would be to check h/w compatibility. I often have family and friends who have very old, very corrupted installations of Win98/WinMe on P2/P3 class hardware. All they want to do is surf the web and write emails - if I could easily check that the h/w is compatible and install off of one disc, it would be quite a time saver.
It would be. There is hardware compatibility list on http://en.opensuse.org/HCL It is project in initial stages so if you have knowledge of some hardware that is working add it to the list. The fact that it is old hardware is irrelevant as many Linux/SUSE users started experimenting with machines that were sitting in the corner, obsolete and unused. -- Regards, Rajko.
