Uhhhh, that's what I found in the specs of the SAA7134, and ........ there really is no other way since the card has NO audio output connector !
While searching online for a product data sheet or technical specs, I actually found your SLE inquiry on this card from April '05 ;-) That's right ! I never got around the problem and now after one year I'm
trying again with a newer Linux version (= 10.0). :-)
Do you have a manufacturer link for me? Preferably one with technical info?
Here's a link to a 7134 description in pdf : http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat_download/literature/9397/75010... and here's a description of the 3174hl version (but I believe this is a newer version that I don't have on the TV-card) : http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/pip/saa7134hl
Therefore, I said that I believe that I just have to set some configuration item correctly. But how and where ?
We need to verify the chip used and if an appropriate driver exists. Then we have to determine if the driver finds the chip and loads/initializes correctly.
I have read somewhere that the driver is included in the 2.6.x kernels (I assume that's why the video signal gets processed all-right. I have perfect TV-images). Also, I found a driver published at http://dl.bytesex.org/releases/video4linux/
I even found somewhere that - maybe - I have to disable "line-in as surround" to get it working, but I have no clue how and where to do that. I cannot identify such function in kmix or alsamixer. :-(
This is sometimes tricky... finding a mixer that works correctly with the driver.
