You're asking for a gun to shoot yourself in the foot.
Running X.org 6.9 on SUSE 10.0 will gain you exactly 0 advantage over the X.org that's included in the distribution.
Except for bugfixes ;) In my case 6.9 came as a bless since it has the fix for a serious and extremely annoying problem with console switching on Intel 82845G integrated VGA controller.
It won't run faster and won't do anything more than the included X.org.
