I hope no one minds a mini-review here, but if you have need of an AWESOME professional photo printer, don't buy Epson. ;) My Epson 2200 recently died, and would have required an expensive factory repair. I started looking at what printer options were/are available in a pro. photo printer, and found the HP Photosmart 8750. It not only is cheaper than the Epson, but offers some features NOT found on Epson. HP doesn't have a driver for the 8750 yet, and the "common" driver doesn't support it either, but you can get it to work without a lot of work with SUSE 10.0. Now, here's the "AWESOME" part. Color matching has been NONexistant with most printers, including Epson for sometime......professional photo printers anyway. NO LONGER! HP has put color matching in fireware, and it is "spot on"!! The ink is dye based and is 100 yr. archival. If you do a good job with a good digital camera, and know what you're doing with Gimp, you can get EXCEPTIONAL results with this printer!
