Just wondering where Solaris comes in and why.
The partition type is just a number. And unfortunately, solaris uses the same number for their main partition type as linux does for swap, so fdisk can't know if it's one or the other This is also why you should be very careful when you install linux on the same machine as solaris, as the linux installer may want to use the solaris partition as swap space, with unfortunate consequences
