Getting happier: BIOS setup Full default Advanced->Onboard->SATA mode->ide (not RAID) Boot->Hard->SATA first Fresh install Unplug USB memory first since it seems to get earlier letters in scsi emulation So far, the installation proceeds without crashing. Updating works. Wow. Who knows what BIOS settings kill SUSE. I'm not venturing there again! Q-fan control, spectrum stuff, who needs it.
