Am thinking of getting a Nikon D50. Any hands on experience with the D50 and SuSE anyone?
Cheers, Steve.
I use a D70, which is essentially the same camera, and always use a USB card reader rather than the usb link to the camera itself. Better for your camera batteries! To process the .nef RAW files, if you choose to shoot that way rather than jpeg, look at Dave Coffin's DCRAW at http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/ And the related Gimp plugin by Paweł T. Jochym at http://ptj.rozeta.com.pl/Soft/RawPhoto/ Or you could pay for the excellent Bibble image processing software from http://www.bibblelabs.com/ However, you don't need any of that to use JPEG. They're good cameras, give it a go. Best Fergus -- Fergus Wilde Chetham's Library Long Millgate Manchester M3 1SB UK Tel: 0161 834 7961 Fax: 0161 839 5797 http://www.chethams.org.uk
