9.2 was installed from CDs, I don't remember how I got it started. CDs are long gone.

Are you sure it doesn't have the option that most of IBM's laptops have where you hold down F12 at boot time and it will let you specify the boot order?
Just tried it, and it does redirect the boot attempt... to network. Since I have nothing on the other end of a network connection that it would recognize, that doesn't work.
Other than that, there are floppy images on the DVD/CD's that you can use. (Haven't done it in years but I am sure they are still there)
I'll look for that. Wish I could remember what I did for 9.2. I know that I didn't create a boot floppy then, and SuSE had already discontinued including floppies by then, hadn't they? Kevin
