I am reluctant to alter the monitor's settings with its buttons, in case it messes the other distros up. Also, I have the situation where the image is correct in sax, but not when I exit sax.
Before I do alter the monitor's centring with its buttons, I really would appreciate further comments on this problem, either from your selves or others.
Hi Keith, I don't know the age or design of your monitor, but my NEC CRT seems to "remember" my customized adjustments for each mode (defined by unique horizontal, vertical and color bit-depth settings.) I'm constantly switching between OSs and display modes, too. My presets are 1600x1200, 1400x1050, 1280x1024, 1024x768 and 800x600. They are all fine-tuned using the built-in monitor controls. In particular, the 1280x1024 mode under Linux is accomplished differently than it is under M$, so when I adjust it on the one side, the other remains unaffected. This is not the case where the modes are accomplished using the same parameters. hth & regards, - Carl
