This is a commonly held misconception. Just because you see the name of the hardware in the hardware list it doesn't mean it's recognised. Most hardware include its own name hardcoded. There is a function "what is your name" and that is the string that's printed in the hardware list. Whether or not it is supported by the driver is another question. Make sure the driver you are trying to load is the correct one to use. Most driver CDs for windows include multiple drivers for many different models of cards. Double and triple check that the driver you are trying to use under linux/ndiswrapper is the one that would be used under windows
