I've done some googling on headless installs and have only been able to find references to SLES having that capability by using pxe and VNC.
Does anyone know whether or not it is possible to do a headless install of 9.3 Pro, and if so, where there might be a howto on the subject?

Skipping the other parts of this thread, I'll answer your question directly... Yes, 9.3 pro does allow "vnc installation". I've tested it on a local network, so I know it works. I've never done it remote but TCP/IP is TCP/IP.... As to how you will get get your packets routed across 3000 miles is a problem which I assume you know how to solve. As to the boot prompt on a headless server, that I've never tried, but I suppose you'd get a text prompt? On a console? How do you configure the bios to boot from DVD? The procedure for VNC install is described in the Admin manual see: "Chapter 3. Special Installation Procedures / 3.3. Installation with VNC" Basically you choose install in the boot propmt and enter the following parameters "vnc=1 vncpassword=<xyz> install=<source>" Jerry P.S. On all my servers I load the entire contents of the DVD into a directory to avoid having to request the dvd during configurations. But you mentioned you know how to do remote admin....
