All i want to know is how do you create a linux server as a
authentication server. If a linux client on a network logs
on to the network the linux server must authenticate him.
In windows you have a domain controller to authenticate the
users how do u setup a linux server to authenticate users?

you need to be more specific. what are you trying to achieve? you want an ldap server? smb server? mail server? you want information about pam? are you trying to walk before you learn to crawl?
