I believe if you insert the install CD there is an option to repair the package database. Might want to give that a try.

Also, this seems to have caused YOU to segfault. The problem was apparently caused by running out of space while installing tetex. I fixed the space issue and was able to reinstall it and get YOU running again.
Any suggestions on how to fix the RPM error. I did a quick search in the support database for both SuSE and Red Hat. Red Hat had a similar occurrence, but no solution.
Note that I had planned to resize the root partition or move the root file system to a larger partition, but I could also reinstall 9.2.
