So I dutifully try the new 9.3 LiveCD, and, lo and behold, my Treo sync's! So I go through the hassle of installing 9.3 over Gentoo, and get all the patches applied, and all the recent supplements updated. I get all of my environment just about the way I like, and then I try to sync. I use Jpilot. I'm just doing a straight backup. And what do I get for all of this trouble? That's right: a hard lock up. Part-way through, it just locks up the machine. No ctrl-alt-delete. No ssh. Before you get too exasperated, try using the command line software from a virtual terminal (for instance ctrl-alt-f1).

If you are successful, then possibly there is a problem with X, KDE, or jpilot. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
