OS: SuSE 9.3 Pro
I did a 9.2 to 9.3 upgrade over the weekend and noticed my logs were no longer rotating. I found the following error in my syslog:
Apr 25 22:11:01 UniXpress93 /usr/sbin/cron[5683]: (root) BAD FILE MODE (tabs/root)
with the referenced file:
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Apr 11 06:52 /var/spool/cron/tabs/root
Just what should the file mode be for this and what may have trashed it?
I believe the mode should be 600/-rw------ as root should be the only one to access the file. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
