Hey Group;
After mounting a USB hard drive as /dev/sda1 and then checking using df I get.
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/hda5 35823796 9711496 26112300 28% / tmpfs 257392 0 257392 0% /dev/shm /dev/hda2 194449 12882 171527 7% /boot /dev/hda6 35262476 7032400 26438832 22% /mnt/hda6 /dev/hdb1 4806552 439840 4122552 10% /mnt/hdb1 /dev/hdb2 4883044 1958464 2924580 41% /mnt/hdb2 /dev/hdb3 4883044 36728 4846316 1% /mnt/hdb3 /dev/hda1 5234944 2945720 2289224 57% /mnt/winxp /dev/sda1 13678872 8185500 5493372 60% /media/sda1 /dev/sda1 13678872 8185500 5493372 60% /media/sda1
Note: 2 listings for /media/sda1
this seems to be a problem with subfs mount --version = mount-2.12c
If unmounted (umount /media/sda1) both go away.
Hi, do you manage to access the media and writing onto it (seems yes) ? I have an external USB HD, LACIE 250Gb, and I have not experienced any problem mounting it and make it working (but with noapic option booting the system). But I have also experienced a problem using a SONY USB stick, that has been revealed with 4 different mount point. I remember since that time that I had found something about this issue about some USB harware that came out with a strange partition. Browse the list for this issue ... sorry, but I have not kept a bookmark of the topic ! ;-) L
