Hi, Does anyone know why I would have multiple sshd processes running, some from up to a few days ago even though I am only logged in once? Additionally, if I run finger, it shows that I am logged in 4 times even though I am only currently only logged in once via an SSH connection.
I suspect that these old sshd processes are left behind from some sort of an unclean logout but is this normal? If not, how can I get sshd to clean up?
Thanks, Scott
Looking at the situation here, there is one sshd process each for ports 20, 21, 22 immediately after I "ssh -X <host>" and login. There was also an old telnet session (port 23) hanging around before I logged out and logged in again, don't know where from as I try to steer clear of telnet. If this is what you are seeing, it seems normal. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
