This worked. Thank you. However, if there is no vga=NNN line in lilo.conf, where is the system getting the frame buffer info? I noticed that after an install of SuSE 9.x, the screen resolution is whatever resolution you installed at. Where else is the frame buffer/resolution setting located? I want to change the screen resolution when at the terminal prompt. I thought there was a setting lilo.conf, but I don't see it in the suse distro. Is VGA terminal screen resolution set somewhere else under SuSE?
For all console terminals to start at the same given setting on a per boot basis, use the "vga=" parameter on your kernel line. The framebuffer howto has a modes chart.
To change it after booting I think can be done with the fbset command. I installed it, but never got around to trying it yet. -- "He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." John 11:25 NIV
