I've got SuSE 9.2 with WinXP right now and I'm trying to add Linspire 4.5 (it's a long story). I've actually got all three successfully loaded but neither SuSE's GRUB nor Linspire's LILO will recognize the other distro and provide it as a boot option. I though I added Linspire successfully in SuSE's GRUB but it didn't show up in the boot options. Has anyone managed to get a triple-boot (2 linux, 1 windows) system to work? <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<- 1 Windows is too much! ->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If so, how did you do it? Can anyone tell me if there is a simple way of adding Linspire in GRUB? <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<- There is no limit; I have 2 Wins plus 3 Lins on one HDD, all bootable directly by a single grub. About your case: Look at Linspire' lilo config file (Maybe /etc/lilo.conf). You find something like this: --------------------------------- image=/boot/vmlinuz-xxx label=Linspire root=/dev/hda2 initrd=/boot/initrd-xxx.img read-only append="KRNL-OPTNs" --------------------------------- Then add the following to your SuSE's grub config file (Maybe /boot/grub/menu.lst): --------------------------------- title Linspire root (hd0,1) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-xxx ro root=/dev/hda2 KRNL-OPTNs initrd /boot/initrd-xxx.img --------------------------------- Note to the similarities of two; Especially, /dev/hda2 of linux is the (hd0,1) of grub. In linux: 1,2,3,..,N In grub: 0,1,2,..,N-1 ->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I did a repair using the SuSE program from the dvd install disk and tried adding it that way, but no go. Disk space is not a problem (2 hard drives- 1: 20GB winblows only, 2: 200GB with SuSE & Linspire) Thanks Jack <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<- There is also other ways; Please ask again if you had problems.
