Hi, Ganesh. Thanks for reply.
I made both the changes you suggest above, but I'm still getting the same error message ("mms is not a registered protocol").
I do not get the error message you described.
Should I leave my about:config set with the 2 changes you suggested or should I return them to default settings? Thx Gil I did the two changes as suggested, closed Firefox, started Firefox and was then able to view the videos on the page in question. Perhaps restarting Firefox is was is needed if you have not done so.
Ken, thanks for reply. I had already tried restarting Firefox. No luck. Just tried again. Still no luck. I am getting that same error message as noted above. ;o( Gil Just by chance can you double check that the changes have not disappeared? Don't know why they would but who knows.
Nope, still there. I see two lines: network.protocol-handler.app.mms user set string opt/kde3/bin/kaffeine and network.protocol-handler.external.mms default boolean true

Hi All,
This may be a stupid question, but are you all running the identical version of Firefox?... same package, same packager and installed in the same way?
rpm -qa | grep Firefox shows MozillaFirefox-1.0-2.1
However... and this is a side benefit of apt4rpm - ;-) - you can just forget what you installed, when *and* where it came from :-P
I can't think of another reason the 'same' application would respond internally one way on system 'A' and differently on system 'B' with the platform type and OS being the same.

Carl, I am using Firefox 1.0 Interestingly, when I enter rpm -qa | grep Firefox and hit enter nothing happens. I am brought back to a command prompt. Same thing if I try egrep or fgrep. Grep does appear to be installed. I typed locate grep and it found /usr/bin/ (a whole bunch of greps) Gil
