Now I cannot reset my time or date (in lower right hand corner of panel button bar). I right click and then enter my password. The clock configuration program (Adjust Date and Time) tries to open, and the Yast2 screen starts to display, but then immediately closes.
fire an xerm and set it this way: (you should use the correct time though) :-)
sudo date 120211472004
from man date: date [-u|--utc|--universal] [MMDDhhmm[[CC]YY][.ss]
I usually do this afterwards: sudo hwclock --systohc
You could also find an NTP server near you(check out the router from your ISP) and do a sudo ntpdate IP_of_router

Brian, thanks for reply. But this is way over my head and probably tries to do much more than I need. I don't have any idea what "xerm" is. Don't know what "sudo date" is, or the "man date" either. Can you put this into very simple instructions? All I want to do is get back the ability to reset the time and date using "adjust time and date" when right clicking the clock. Not interested in tying into a server to get automatic updates. Thanks! ;o) Gil
