Adding a non-kde application on the panel (9.2 Pro)

I know it's supposed to be like dead easy, but i do the logical things, such as put in the line where says executable the path to the executable, and when I click on it the splash screen of the program briefly appears and then it dies. If I run the same executable from command line in a terminal, it comes up perfectly. And if I click on the run in console button, it tells me that the session exited with status 129 (which I have searched for but not found) Any clues?
