Since some time now I have constant problems with connecting to my ISP. After a short period of time the connection is disrupted. In normal cases the dialer (I am using kinternet) is trying to reconnect but this often causes the download of email, website to disrupt. My connection today does not stand longer as one or two minute and is sometimes as short as ten seconds. As I have to pay per dialing with a standard cost and after connection per minute the disconnecting is not only irritant but also costly. I looked into the man pages of pppd and others but do not seem to get my answers there. A google search is not possible for the moment. Could somebody help me on my way? =========
What did your set your timeout to, when setting up the modem? You should have it at zero (0), if you want unlimited time connections or until you decide to end it. That would be the first thing I would check.
