I am using blackbox, but this happens also with kde on suse 9.1. My default shell is tcsh. I open an xterm. I start a program in the foreground I attempt to close the xterm, but it won't close. I close the program in the foreground. The xterm immediately closes. This is a very frustrating behavior, especially when the program in the foreground is behaving poorly and rejects control-c. It would be OK if it didn't remember that I had clicked the close button, but as soon as the foreground application terminates, so does the window. This appears to be tcsh specific as bash will close the xterm immediately upon clicking the close button. I have not noticed this tcsh behavior with any other os or linux distribution. Is there anyway to get tcsh immediately respond to closing an xterm? Regards, Juan
