I've never seen a reply for this query at the list (see below). I don't know the sender; If he was newcomer to the list, I guess he disappointed at the start point!
This is a mailing list, *not* a helpdesk. If an answer isn't available, or if no-one finds the subject interesting enough or whatever other reason there may be: *too bad*. Just try to repost later, with another subject or something.
Excuse me... In addition to the pity, the subject attracts me.
Then next time you might show a bit more interest yourself instead of telling others what to do.
Advanced users are requested to reply (publicly).
Before I give an answer: what exactly did you do to help the OP?
Subject: [SLE] How to enable autologin (no KDE and GNOME installed) ???
Was that your contribution alineziad? Care to explain why that would be relevant?

I have installed SuSE Professional 9.2 over an old one and I've made a selection of packages without including KDE or GNOME packages (only their utilites if it was needed by dependences) and installed Window Maker as a WindowManager. The question is: How to set autologon for specified user ???
For the OP: You'll need at least (to use) a displaymanager like kdm or gdm. In the config program for KDE (kcontrol) you can find "Login Manager" under "System Administration". In the "Convenience" tab select "Enable auto-login" and choose the user. If you use gdm as displaymanager run gdmsetup as root, in the "general" tab select "Login a user automatically on first bootup" and select a user. Easy peasy. Theo -- Theo v.
