I have mounted a 270 G partition without problems (RAID 5, Reiserfs).
Make sure that you have a kernel compiled fith large file support and things alike (LVM and raid options). I would first check whether the raid array itself functions properly (man mdadm), then fsck that particular partition (!unmounted!), and if that doesn't help, I would probably try to rebuild the possibly corrupted log file (if you use xfs), then run fsck again (xfsck or something similar in the case of xfs) and then finally try to mount it again. Naturally, I would make sure to mount it with adequate options. If all that yealded nil success, I would send another email to the list.

I think the original message said he had done 700 GB succesfully. It was truly large filesystems he could not get to work. I have a 4-disk 3ware card I can experiment with and my local Costco is selling 250 GB Maxtor drives for $135. Maybe I will buy 4 of them and try a 1 TB filesystem. (Not bad for under $1000 including the 3ware card.) I think 3ware only supports 1 TB anyway. Above that you have to use md, lvm, etc. to add your storage pieces together. Greg
