What type of RAID controller or driver are you using? I run HP/Compaq servers and found that after the initial install completed, adding apm=off and acpi=off was necessary to make the system boot. After updating, my Suse box could not boot... My box is DELL PowerEdge 1400SC (Xeon x 2,1GB RAM, RAID5 array). Boot panic looks like raid driver missing. I afraid of SMP kernel correspondings. Does some one mentioned same situations ? And also latest SMP kernel module can run on PowerEdge1400SC/RAID ? Sorry, I joined this list today.
