(SuSE Linux 9.2 Professional)
I have a (piddly) problem. I installed an upgrade from 9.1 to 9.2 on my fileserver and main workstation. The login splash screen still shows Version 9.1. I just installed a fresh install of 9.2 on my laptop. The laptop's login splash screen shows Version 9.2. How do you go about changing the login splash screen? (This is not something you do every day.) Any pointers will be appreciated.

Control Centre -> System Administration -> Login Manager -> Appearance -> Greeting
probably is what you are looking for. I have fiddled with this on mine, so I am no longer sure whether this gives the version.
Hmm, /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager, variable "KDM_GREETSTRING" seems to be more appropriate to me... ;) This will probably survive a run of 'SuSEconfig --module kdm3'. Cheers, Leen
